Weekly Rides

We are lucky to have so many road enthusiasts in Victoria, that there are weekly road rides that run all year long!

Here's what you need to know before heading out on any of our awesome weekly group rides:

1) You have a Victoria Wheelers Club membership; Cycling BC license; or a UCI license; or

2) If you don't have any of the above, please come a little early and ask for the Ride Leader. Before leaving the Ride Leader will give you our really interesting 2-ride waiver to read and sign, which allows you join 2 group rides. After you've experienced 2 group rides and discover that you want to get involved more, you need to go back to #1 and get a UCI license and/or Club membership.

3) You've checked out our Wheeler Rules of the Road.  We pride ourselves on being safe and supportive riders.

Monday Women's Ride

Lead by Victoria Wheelers Ambassadors, the Monday Night Women’s Ride leaves from the Oak Bay Bikes parking lot (1990 Oak Bay Ave) at 6:00pm.

This mildly undulating 30km route is both an introduction to group riding and a moderately paced recovery ride. For women new to group riding, experienced ride leaders will coach you on group etiquette and safety. For the experienced rider, this a great social ride.

The overall average speed is 25-27km/hr. If you’re unable to maintain this speed for the entire 30kms, join us for as long as you are able. Increase the distance you ride with us as your fitness improves each week.

Your Cycling BC Insurance has to be current. Ensure your bike is ride-ready and bring a spare tube, pump and tire levers. Also, please bring adequate front & rear lights to ensure a safe ride home.

If there are no updates by 4pm, assume the ride is good to go! For updates/cancellations check our facebook page and/or twitter.

If you have any questions or are looking for further information, please contact Kim via email: kim@oakbaybikes.com
