Call For Volunteers at Windsor Park

The Windsor Park Criterium is coming up this Sunday, May 18th and we're still in desperate need of volunteers!!! This race cannot run without them, so please consider signing up for one of the slots if you're able to - and recruiting your family and friends to volunteer and cheer at this incredible race venue! It's an entertaining race to watch and cheer, and the sign up is quick and easy. Guaranteed treats and hi-5's!

With all of our supported rides, these are available for members only (except for Vic to Cow, in which we will have a select period of advance registration for club members, then opening up to non-members). Women's Training Series - The Recap

For the past four weeks, seven intrepid Victoria Wheelers women braved the spring sunshine (and occasional showers) to partake in the coached training series.  

Week 1 found us in the parking lot of Beacon Hill Park, practicing individual bike handling skills, from braking, to cornering to figure 8's, until we were dizzy and dreaming of riding in straight lines again.  Narrowly escaping the briefest bout of showers, we finally warmed up again on the way back, fine tuning our single pace.  

Monday Night Women's Ride

Lead by the Victoria Wheelers (female) Ambassadors, the Monday night Women’s ride leaves from OBB Victoria @ 6:00 p.m. This mildly undulating 30 km route is designed to teach group riding etiquette and to meet other women in the cycling community.

Training 101 Seminar - Recap

Last Tuesday, Victoria Wheelers members participated in a 'Training 101 Seminar', led by our very own Connie Circony. Connie has extensive experience within road cycling, both as an athlete and coach, competing at the Canada Games, the Western Canada Games, and then raced provincially and nationally. Along with her athletic pursuits, Connie has also participated in the sport of cycling as a race organizer, NCCP Level 2 certified coach, and commissaire for the past 20 years.
